The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu advises the public that its Consular Outreach Mission to Maui scheduled from 11 to 13 August 2023 is postponed to a later date, owing to the wildfires which ravaged parts of the island.  The disaster has resulted in casualties, downed power and communication lines, and closure of certain roads.

The postponement is in line with the emergency proclamation issued by Hawaii Acting Governor Sylvia Luke today discouraging non-essential air travel to Maui and allow for an effective emergency response to the wildfires currently affecting the island.

The Consulate will post an advisory on the new dates of the consular outreach mission to Maui once it is known.
