Further to the previous advisories of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu on the wildfires in Maui and the Big Island, those affected are informed of the following:
- Those who need assistance in locating a missing loved one due to the wildfires may also course their query through the American Red Cross at telephone number 1-800-733-2767. Select Option 4 and follow the voice prompts for “Hawaii Wildfires.” They may likewise visit org/safeandwell. The Red Cross notes that call volume is high and callers may experience longer wait times.
- The Philippine Consulate is waiving the requirement of obtaining an appointment for those affected by the wildfires who need to immediately avail of consular services, including those who registered for the consular mobile outreach in Maui that was scheduled on 10-13 August 2023 but was postponed due to the wildfires. Applicants are advised to call the Consulate in advance through the 24/7 emergency hotline (808) 253-9446 or through (808)-595-6316 to 19 if during office hours.
- Members of the Filipino community in the areas affected by wildfires in Maui and the Big Island may contact the Philippine Consulate through its 24/7 emergency hotline (808) 253-9446 for assistance.
- The Filipino community is advised to refer to reliable sources of information on the wildfires. Everyone should closely monitor and follow instructions from local officials. The most current information from local authorities is available at:
