(3 February 2020, Honolulu, Hawaii) - The Philippine Consulate General informs the public that the nominations for the 2020 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO) are still ongoing.
The schedule of the next awards ceremony is in December 2020, and the deadline for accepting nominations is on 31 July 2020 (Philippine time).
The PAFIOO are conferred by the President of the Philippines every two years in recognition of the immense contributions of Filipino/foreign individuals and organizations abroad in the national development efforts, promotion of the interest of Filipino diaspora and for their exceptional achievements or excellence in the pursuit of their endeavors.
The roster of awardees now includes some 485 individuals and organizations overseas from 51 countries and territories, who have been a source of pride and have significantly contributed to the betterment of Filipino communities here and abroad.
Any individual or organization, whether Filipino or foreign, based in Hawaii and American Samoa may submit nominations for the awards on or before 30 June 2020 to:

The Consulate will, in turn, evaluate and endorse the nomination to the CFO Awards Technical Committee.
Kindly note also that under Section 3.12 of the new PAFIOO Guidelines, “previous recipients of the Presidential Awards may be nominated but under a different category. However, the accomplishments and contributions cited as bases for their nominations must be distinct and entirely separate from their previous Presidential Awards.”
Moreover, the following additional requirements should be submitted together with the nomination/s:
- Introductory video about the nominee, maximum of 3 minutes (Sec. 5.8.4)
- Certification of no derogatory records (to be issued by the Philippine Consulate General)
- Board Resolution – for organization nominees certifying that they are applying for the Award (Sec. 5.8.10)
- Board Resolution – for individual nominee who is a member or officer of an organization certifying that accomplishments and contributions cited in the nomination were done through his/her individual capacity and not of the organization where he/she belongs (Sec. 5.8.11.)
