02 December 2022, Honolulu, Hawaii - Consul Grace Bulos and Cultural Officer Elaine Aldaya (second from left and leftmost, respectively) visited the art exhibit of Filipino American art student, Mr. Eduardo Joaquin (second from right), a Filipino-American Bachelor of Fine Arts senior student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM). Entitled Liminality, Joaquin’s pieces centered on his diasporic identity, bridging his Filipino heritage and the Western academic tradition of oil painting. The exhibit ran from 23 November to 2 December and will be on display again from 12 December to 3 January 2023.

 

The visit to the art exhibit was arranged by UHM Associate Dean, Ms. Gaye Chan (rightmost) and supported by Dr. Pia Arboleda, Director of the UHM Center for Philippine Studies (center).
