24 January 2023, Honolulu – Shown in the photo are Consul General Emil Fernandez (left) and Hawaii Governor Josh Green, who are in discussion at the floor of the State Legislature following the Governor’s first State of the State address. In his speech before the House and Senate, Governor Green outlined his vision for Hawaii and enumerated his policy ideas to tackle the state’s most pressing challenges. In their exchange, the Governor recalled to the Consul General the many fond memories of the brief time he spent living in Manila at the age of 18, when his father moved to the Philippines to work on infrastructure projects. He expressed the hope of visiting the Philippines again soon.
