21 March 2023 – Consul General Emil Fernandez (4th from left) received Major General Arturo Rojas (4th from right), Commander of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Special Operations Command (SOCOM), at the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu yesterday during the latter’s visit to Hawaii.  Major General Rojas was appointed to his current position last January.  SOCOM is tasked to plan, conduct and support the special operations of the AFP, including unconventional warfare, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorist operations, high-value target raids, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations.  The multi-decorated Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) general is scheduled to meet with the Special Operations Command Pacific of USINDOPACOM, among his other engagements in the state.  (END)
