PRESS RELEASE NO. 33-2023
30 March 2023, Hawaii, USA – The Philippine Consulate Gerneral in Honolulu headed by Consul General Emil Fernandez (second from right, bottom row) in collaboration with the Philippine Consulates General in Agana, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, and the Pag-IBIG Virtual Office-North America headed by its Team Lead Mr. Eric Elloso (second from right, top row) briefed participating members of Filipino communities in the West Coast and Pacific on the Pag-IBIG Fund’s services, including housing loans, cash loans aimed at helping OFWs with their immediate financial needs, and the Fund’s Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) Savings Program.
In his message during the online event, Consul General Fernandez highlighted the Consulates’ gender and development efforts, noting that the webinar coincided with National Women’s Month and aims to empower and provide overseas Filipinos with information on services that contribute to nation-building in line with the theme of “Women and Everyone (WE) for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”
“While many of our kababayans have settled well overseas, they will always have that strong connection to the Philippines and a longing to give back to our country. And what better way to give back than to invest in the Philippines?” the Consul General said.
Participants were encouraged to avail of Pag-IBIG services and use them as tools to grow their savings and investments, particularly in the real estate sector. (END)
