24 April 2023, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez received last April 20 distinguished officials from Ilocos Sur, including Candon Mayor Eric Singson and Mrs. Grace Gacula Singson, Deputy House Speaker Kristine Singson-Meehan and former Finance Undersecretary Karen Singson-Amurao. They were provided with a briefing on the services of the Consulate and its priority programs for the year during their visit. The Singsons’ itinerary in Hawaii include the conduct of a business forum in collaboration with the Filipino Chamber of Commerce to promote trade relations with the Ilocos region, attendance of the 75th anniversary gala of the Candonians of Hawaii, and talks with the Mayor of Kauai, which has a sister-city relationship with Candon.
