30 May 2023, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) joined forces in encouraging Filipinos in Maui, Hawaii to register as overseas voters for the 2025 Philippine national mid-term elections.  Addressing attendees during the 54th Annual Barrio Fiesta at the Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center in Maui, COMELEC Commissioner Aimee P. Ferolino emphasized the importance of practicing their political rights as Filipino citizens by exercising their right to suffrage.  Registered overseas voters may vote for Senators and Party-List Representatives in the 2025 mid-term elections.

A Philippine Consulate team, composed of Vice Consul Leizel Caasi and Consular Assistant Joel Bulos, conducted field registration activities wherein Filipino citizens registered to vote and checked their status as overseas voters.

 Vice Consul Caasi also delivered remarks during the Opening Ceremony of the Barrio Fiesta and addressed queries regarding overseas voter registration, retention and reacquisition of Filipino citizenship, notarization and passport application, among others. (END)
