14 June 2023, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA – In a reception that included members of local media and food bloggers, the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu officially launched this year’s edition of the much-anticipated Filipino Food Week (FFW) at Stage Restaurant yesterday.  Also present were FFW sponsors, including Philippine Airlines, Tanduay Rum, Mama Sita’s, East West Marketing, Maui Chili Chili Oil, and Jacob’s Gourmet Foods and representatives of the 20 participating establishments.

 This year’s theme of “pulutan” (bar food) highlights the Filipino drinking culture and the drinks they are paired with.  From June 20 to 26, participating restaurants will feature “pulutan” dishes or special cocktails, using Filipino products. Among the establishments who have signified their intention to participate are Basalt Restaurant Waikiki, Chef Chai, Eating House 1849, Elena’s Home of Finest Filipino Foods, J & S Lumpia Spot, Joey’s Kitchen, MACADANGDANG, Max’s of Manila - Dillingham and Waipahu, Obake, Ōlena by Chef Ron Simon, PAI Honolulu, Roy's® Hawaii Kai, SAMA SAMA, Shan-J Restaurant, Skull and Crown Trading Co., Stage Restaurant & Amuse Wine Bar, Tante’s Island Cuisine, Tiki’s Grill & Bar, UBAE and XO Restaurant. Another highlight of this year’s FFW is a social media raffle contest.
