21 July 2023, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General registered 16 Filipino fishermen as overseas voters during a mobile overseas voter registration held at Honolulu Harbor’s Pier 17 on July 20.
Vice Consul Leizel Caasi led the team, which also included Post’s assistance-to-nationals (ATN) officer and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) liaison officers. Aside from the voter registration, the team also checked on the welfare and concerns of the Filipino fishermen, who are employed in Hawaii’s long-line fishing industry, and informed them of the various consular services offered by the Consulate.
The next mobile overseas voter registration of Filipino fishermen is scheduled on 07 August 2023 at Pier 36. (END)
