PRESS RELEASE NO. 118-2023

Consul General Emil Fernandez and Department for Migrant Workers Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan met on 20 November 2023 to discuss issues affecting overseas Filipino workers under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu. 

22 November 2023, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez welcomed Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan of the Department for Migrant Workers (DMW) at the Consulate last 20 November for discussions on the situation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the State of Hawaii and the US territory of American Samoa.

DMW was created in 2021 to “protect the rights and promote the welfare of OFWs,” merging key functions of seven migration agencies in the Philippines. (END)
