6 December 2023, Honolulu – Philippine Christmas lanterns or parols were lit up at the Philippine Consulate General last night during a get-together with members of the Filipino community. The display of capiz parols at the Consulate’s façade was made possible through the support of the Philippine Celebrations Coordinating Committee of Hawaii, currently headed by its chair, Adela Salacup, and the generosity of several donors.

In his remarks, Consul General Emil Fernandez said, “We at the Consulate hope that through this activity, we are able to appreciate the craftsmanship of Filipinos, reminisce how the holidays are spent in our country, and bring a sense of home to those who are in Hawaii.” (END)
