26 January 2024, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - The Filipino Complete Count Committee (FCCC) for the 2020 US Census met with Washington D.C.-based US Census Bureau officials, led by Director Robert Santos, last January 24 at the Kanaina Building of the Iolani Palace grounds.  The meeting served as an avenue for the Bureau to inform the FCCC about priorities for the 2030 Census.  It also provided the FCCC an opportunity to share its experiences and feedback on its support for the 2020 Census and suggestions for improvements for the next census exercise.

Leading the FCCC was former State Senator and current Executive Director of the State Workforce Development Council Bennette Misalucha, who served as Chair of the FCCC.  Others present were State Senators Henry Aquino and Joy San Buenaventura, State Representative Greggor Ilagan, Dr. Amy Agbayani, Dr. Raymond Liongson, Dr. Serafin Colmenares, and Ms. Annie Sokol, who served as Project Coordinator of the FCCC, among others.  Consul Grace Bulos represented the Philippine Consulate General at the event.

While the Decennial Census is a US government exercise, the Philippine Consulate supported the activity in 2020 due to its importance in determining the estimated number and location of Filipinos under its jurisdiction (END).
