5 February 2024, Honolulu – The newly installed Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Hawaii, Mr. Asoka Silva (shown in the picture at left), tendered a reception at the St. Louis Clubhouse in Honolulu last February 3 to commemorate the South Asian country’s 76th Independence Day. The evening’s program included blessings from spiritual leaders, reading of messages, recognition of community leaders, cultural performances, and a sumptuous buffet of Sri Lankan cuisine. Consul General Emil Fernandez joined other members of the Consular Corps, local government officials, representatives of think tanks and the academe, as well as guests from the Sri Lankan community to celebrate the national day.
