PHOTO RELEASE NO. 14-2024

9 February 2024, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez attended the Change of Command Ceremony of the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) today, held at Hickam Field in Honolulu. The event, which signifies the change of authority from one commander to the other, saw General Kenneth Wilsbach relinquishing command of PACAF to General Kevin Schneider, who previously served in the Pacific theater for a combined 12 years to include responsibilities as Chief of Staff for both Headquarters PACAF and USINDOPACOM.

Consul General Fernandez welcomed Gen. Schneider back to Hawaii, wished him success in his new position, and expressed commitment to continue fortifying Philippines-U.S. security relations.  The new PACAF Commander thanked the Consul General for the crucial role of the U.S.’ allies in the Indo-Pacific and looked forward to his office’s engagement with the Consulate.  (END)
