During the meeting, Consul Grace Bulos handed to Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii President Susie Berardy an English-Filipino poster on safety and crime prevention, produced by the Honolulu Police Department in cooperation with the Consulate.  FCCH will assist the Consulate in distributing the posters to Filipino-owned establishments in efforts to educate the community on crime prevention.  Others in the photo are Mr. Randy Cortez, Consul Pamela Durian-Bailon and Ms. Melody Calisay.

Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, 11 March 2024 - Consuls Pamela Durian-Bailon and Grace Bulos met with Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) officials, namely President Susie Berardy, President-elect and Trade Mission Chair Melody Calisay, and Business Symposium Chair Randy Cortez last March 7 to discuss the outcome of the 31st Trade Mission and preparations for the upcoming Hawaii Philippines Sister Provinces Business Symposium.  

The FCCH officials expressed appreciation to the Consulate for its assistance in coordinating the mission, the highlight of which was the delegation’s audience with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. at Malacanang Palace.  Prospects for future business ties abound between Hawaii and Philippine establishments following visits to Sorsogon, Vigan, Candon, Sta. Rosa, Laguna and Angeles, Pampanga. 

The FCCH officials also updated the Consulate on preparations for the Hawaii Philippines Sister Provinces Symposium which will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center this March 13.  Attendees include delegations from Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.  Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc will deliver the keynote address and panel discussions will be conducted on workforce recruitment trends, Hawaii’s culture, arts, food, lifestyle, and philanthropy, public-private partnerships in infrastructure development, sustainability and renewable energy and tourism.
