14 March 2024, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez welcomed the producer of 1521: The Quest for Love and Freedom, Mr. Francis Ho, at the Consulate, where they discussed ways to shine a positive light on aspects of Philippine history through film. 1521: The Quest for Love and Freedom was released in 2023 in selected cinemas. The film touched upon the life of Lapulapu, as seen through Filipinos’ eyes. The Los Angeles-based producer was accompanied by State Representative Rose Martinez and Mr. Peter Magno. (END)
