The Philippine Consulate General’s Consular Outreach Team at work in Pago Pago, American Samoa
25 April 2024, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA – Over 300 Filipinos were extended consular services during the Philippine Consulate General’s consular outreach mission in Pago Pago, American Samoa, last April 18 to 21. It was the Consulate’s third successive mission in as many years following the COVID pandemic.
The outreach team processed 140 applications for passports, notarials, civil registration, and dual citizenship. Consulate personnel also registered 161 overseas voters. The group likewise attended to Filipino nationals needing assistance-to-nationals services.
Consul Pamela Durian-Bailon led the outreach team that included Ms. Jonifer Mislang, Administrative Officer, Ms. Gia Cristina Victorio, Collecting Officer, and Mr. Joel Bulos, Consular Assistant. A town hall meeting was also conducted on 20 April, which was attended by members of the Filipino community. The town hall meeting enabled attendees to receive information on the Consulate General’s consular and assistance-to-nationals (ATN) services, and the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas campaign. Consul Bailon also provided guidance on Philippine labor regulations.

During the visit, the team paid a courtesy call on American Samoa Lieutenant Governor La’apui Talauega Eleasalo Va’alele Ale. Lt.Gov. Ale expressed appreciation to the team for undertaking the 2,600 mile trip to American Samoa and render much needed services. Consul Bailon expressed appreciation to American Samoa for hosting an estimated 4,000 Filipinos, who are working in the U.S. territory’s health, construction, service, and education sectors.
