26 April 2024, Honolulu - Upon the special invitation of Australian Consul General Chantelle Taylor and New Zealand Consul General Mike Ketchen, Philippine Consul General Emil Fernandez and other distinguished officials laid wreaths yesterday during the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) Day 2024 ceremony, held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, popularly known as Punchbowl.
ANZAC Day is the day on which Australians and New Zealanders honor those who died in past wars and who served and continue to serve in their armed forces. April 25, 1915 is the date of the first major military action fought by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during the First World War.
