27 May 2024, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez took part in today’s 73rd Mayor’s Memorial Day Ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu, honoring fallen U.S. Armed Forces members. Presented by the City and County of Honolulu and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the solemn event featured several ceremonial presentations and tributes, including remarks from Mayor Rick Blangiardi and U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Stephen Koehler, color guard, presentation of wreaths, firearm salute, military aircraft flyover, playing of taps, performances from the Royal Hawaiian Band, and hula from the 95th Lei Court.  (END)
