PHOTO RELEASE NO. 62-2024

7 June 2024, Honolulu – Consul General Emil Fernandez received Ms. Carrie Aguilar, Deputy Regional Administrator of the US Department of Labor’s (DOL) Regional Office in San Francisco, last June 5 at the Consulate to discuss cooperation on labor matters.  They were joined by Ms. Min Kirk, Assistant District Director and Mr. Herbert Lee, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist, both from the Honolulu District Office, Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Department of Labor, and Consul Grace Bulos.

Consul General Fernandez informed the visiting officials of the priority programs of the Consulate and thanked them for supporting its mandate to uphold and protect the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos, including assistance to nationals cases, participating in its consular outreach missions and educating the Filipino community on US labor rules and regulations. 

Ms. Aguilar presented Consul General Fernandez with a letter of appreciation on behalf of the DOL WHD in recognition of his support of the Division’s programs to help Filipino workers in the State of Hawaii and American Samoa. (END)
