26 June 2024, Honolulu - Consul General Emil Fernandez offered a wreath on behalf of the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu during the 74th Korean War Commemoration Ceremony held yesterday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.  The event was co-organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Honolulu and Korean War Veterans Association Hawaii Chapter.  Guest speakers included Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke and Admiral Stephen Koehler, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.  The Philippines contributed over 7,000 service members to the war effort, including former President Fidel Ramos, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  (END)
