Consul General Fernandez and Assistant Secretary Bueno met to discuss the Philippine tourism promotion activity for Hawaii this July 14.

12 July 2024, Honolulu - Consul General Emil Fernandez received a delegation from the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), headed by Assistant Secretary Maria Rica Bueno, who are in Honolulu for a tourism promotion event this Sunday, July 14. The team will be promoting the Love the Philippines tourism campaign and Bisita, Be My Guest (BBMG) program, where eligible participants will have a chance to win special prizes including condominium units in the Philippines, holiday packages and round-trip airline tickets.

Consul General Fernandez and the Tourism officials discussed the significant contribution of the tourism sector to the Philippine economy, the recovery rate of the industry post-pandemic, as well as strategies to further improve visitor arrivals in the country. The delegation shared that they also plan to learn of Hawaii’s experience in the field.
