PRESS RELEASE NO. 91-2024

01 August 2024, Honolulu–  Consul General Emil Fernandez (7th from left) welcomed a delegation from the Philippines composed of DILG Assistant Secretary Lilian De Leon (8th from left), Camarines Norte Governor Ricarte Padilla (6th from left), local government officials and presidents of state universities and colleges from the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Camarines Norte and Quezon, and  officials of Tanggol Kalikasan and the US Department of Interior (US DOI).

The group is in Hawaii for a Study Tour on Environmental Justice Sector Reform Project  organized by Tanggol Kalikasan, a public interest environmental law office, in partnership with the US DOI under its International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP). The study tour intends to enhance the capacity of these provinces facing the Benham Rise on coastal resources management. (END)
