16 August 2024, Honolulu - Personnel of the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu participated in an Empowerment Self-defense Training conducted by Ms. Angel Ysik on August 15. The training was part of the Consulate’s Gender and Development activities in line with RA11313 or the Safe Spaces Act. The training aimed to empower personnel, especially women, by equipping them with mental, verbal and physical strategies to tackle abuse and violence. Ms. Angel Ysik, a seasoned gender specialist, community organizer, peacebuilder, and researcher from the Environmental Justice Foundation, conducted the training.  (END)
