PRESS RELEASE NO. 103-2024
Consul Grace Bulos delivers her message during the 65th Queen of Charity Coronation and Scholarship Awards organized by the Oahu Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs.
4 September 2024, Honolulu – Consul Grace Bulos congratulated and lauded the Oahu Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs (OCFCC), led by its President Amelia Jodar, for promoting Philippine culture and identity, as well as Filipino Catholic values during the 65th Queen of Charity Coronation and Scholarship Awards held at the Our Lady of the Mount Church in Kalihi Valley, Oahu last 1 September.
The OCFCC oversees the promotion, establishment and development of Filipino Catholic Clubs in parishes in Oahu. It coordinates and assists parish units with their projects and activities, perpetuates the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Catholic faith, and encourages members to be actively involved in the apostolic work of their respective parishes.
The annual Queen of Charity pageant, which was on a respite since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is the OCFCC’s major fundraising activity. Proceeds from the event are used to support qualified and deserving college and high school students in their education. (END)
Ms. Norma Bautista Daligcon, a parishioner of the Our Lady of the Mount Church, was crowned as Queen of Charity at the event. Eight princesses, representing the different member churches of the OCFCC, composed the Queen’s royal court.
