11 September 2024, Honolulu – Consul and Acting Head of Post Pamela Durian-Bailon (left), welcomed Mr. John Y. Choi (center), Regional Director, Office of Foreign Missions (OFM), Department of State, to the Philippine Consulate during his visit to Hawaii. Director Choi recently assumed leadership of OFM’s San Francisco office, which includes Hawaii among its areas of jurisdiction.
Consul Durian-Bailon and Director Choi discussed aspects of Philippines-U.S. bilateral relations, noting the strengthening U.S.-Philippines alliance, particularly in security and defense cooperation. The OFM liaises closely with foreign missions in the U.S., providing support services such as personnel accreditation, driver’s license issuance, and vehicle registration. Consul Durian-Bailon expressed appreciation for OFM’s continued assistance and close collaboration with the Philippine Consulate.
