01 October 2024, Honolulu - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu is pleased to announce that the sixth iteration of the Filipino Food Week (FFW) will be celebrated this October 15 to 21, to coincide with Filipino American History Month. This year’s theme, “Flavors of Iloilo,” will highlight the creative and delicious culinary offerings of Iloilo in the Philippines’ Visayas region.  

FFW aims to promote awareness and interest among locals, international visitors and restaurants in Hawaii and American Samoa by sampling Filipino food and exploring the Philippines’ rich culinary heritage. During the FFW, participating restaurants and chefs in Hawaii and American Samoa will feature dishes and drinks that highlight the culinary delights of Iloilo. The weeklong event also promotes and encourages participating establishments to use Philippine products and ingredients in their culinary creations.

Participating Restaurants

Restaurants in Oahu, Maui, and American Samoa will participate in this year’s FFW. 

The participating restaurants in Oahu are: Basalt, Chef Chai, Magnolia Ice Cream and Treats, Max’s of Manila, Merienda Maui, MW Restaurant, Obake, Olena by Chef Ron Simon, Roy’s Hawaii/ Eating House 1849, Sama Sama, Skull and Crown Trading Co., and Tiki’s Grill and Bar.

The following restaurants in Maui will participate: Balai Pata, Joey’s Kitchen, Tante’s Island Cuisine, Tiffany’s and Tin Roof.

In American Samoa, Shan-J Restaurant will take part.

What to look forward to? 

In the coming days, the Consulate will release a complete list of special offerings from the participating restaurants, as well as the mechanics to join the FFW Social Media Raffle contest for a chance to win a roundtrip ticket to the Philippines.
