7 October 2024, Honolulu - Acting Head of Post Pamela Durian-Bailon led a team from the Consulate and members from the Filipino community in supporting Filipino films showcased at the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF). This year, four (4) Filipino films are featured in the festival, namely: “And So it Begins,” “Balota,” “Bona,” and “Friendly Fire.” Over the weekend, film goers had the opportunity to ask questions addressed to Mr. Kip Oebanda and Mr. Mikhail Red, directors of “Balota” and “Friendly Fire,” respectively. The directors shared their thoughts on their inspiration, the challenges of the genre, and their hopes for the Philippine film industry. (END)
