AHOP Durian-Bailon invites guests to try the “Flavors of Iloilo” from October 15 to 21, 2024 during Filipino Food Week.
8 October 2024, Honolulu - Members of the media and special guests joined the launch of the Filipino Food Week (FFW) 2024, with the theme “Flavors of Iloilo,” at the Philippine Consulate General grounds yesterday. FFW 2024 will run from October 15 to 21, giving locals and guests in Hawaii and American Samoa the chance to experience the rich culinary heritage of Iloilo, a UNESCO-recognized creative city for gastronomy.

During her remarks, Acting Head of Post Pamela Durian-Bailon invited guests to immerse themselves in the culture of Iloilo by trying the specials of the food establishments which are participating in this year’s FFW. Ms. Maly San Luis, General Manager of Max’s of Manila, one of the participating restaurants in FFW, expressed enthusiasm for this activity which promotes the culture of the Philippines. She also shared that Max’s in Dillingham and Waipahu will be offering the sweet and savory chicken binakol, and encouraged everyone to taste this special dish. Ms. Michelle Achong of G.K. Skaggs (Southern Glazer’s), distributor of San Miguel Beer products, Emperador and Fundador brandy, shared that these Philippine beverages are available in select groceries in Hawaii.
