16 September 2024, Honolulu –  Acting Head of Post Pamela Durian-Bailon welcomed  27 officers of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) led by Jail Chief Superintendent Efren A. Nemeño, Deputy Chief for Operations of the Jail Bureau, during the delegation’s courtesy visit to the Philippine Consulate. The BJMP delegation is in Hawaii for a learning visit on current trends and best practices in jail management in the state, including on reintegration, aftercare, relapse prevention and drug rehabilitation. The visit to Hawaii is a first by the BJMP upon the invitation of Mr. John Mizuno, Hawaii Governor’s Coordinator for Homelessness, and Hawaii State Representative May Mizuno. (END)
