30 December 2024, Honolulu – Acting Head of Post Pamela F. Durian-Bailon led a lei offering ceremony to honor the ultimate sacrifice of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in defense of his beliefs and his vision for the Philippines. This year, we commemorate the 128th Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal’s Martyrdom with the theme, “Rizal sa Bagong Pilipinas: Buhay at Aral, Aming Nilalandas.”

 

In her remarks, AHOP Durian-Bailon highlighted the enduring relevance of Dr. Rizal’s teachings and his love for the country, which continue to inspire Filipinos all over the world. She also expressed her appreciation to the Knights of Rizal for their collaboration with the Consulate on community projects and activities.

The different Chapters of the Knights of Rizal in Hawaii, namely the Hawaii Chapter, Aloha Chapter, and Maysa Ohana Chapter, also offered leis for Dr. Rizal. (END)
