16 January 2025, Honolulu – Vice Consul Leizel Caasi welcomed candidates of the Miss Philippines Hawai’i pageant at the Consulate last January 15. Joining the call were Cultural Officer Mia Gaspar, Mr. Reygenald Ines, Creative Director of the Miss Philippines Hawai'i, Ms. Marie Basilio, Director of Communications of the Miss Philippines Hawai’i, and Ms. Sarah Hosaka.  

The candidates, representing different areas across Hawaii, will compete in the first Miss Philippines Hawai’i Pageant this January 17 at the Rock-A-Hula Theatre in Waikiki. Three winners will be crowned and will go on to represent Miss Philippines Hawaii in the 2026 Miss Universe Philippines, Miss World Philippines and Miss  Earth Philippines pageants.  

During the call, the contenders shared their experience throughout the competition and expressed their desire to actively engage with Filipino community organizations, as well as learn more about the rich history and culture of the Philippines. Vice Consul Caasi expressed her best wishes for the candidates and conveyed hopes that they can meaningfully contribute to their respective advocacies through the competition.

Miss World Philippines 2024 First Princess, Jasmine Omay, who will host the Miss Hawaii Philippines pageant, and Ms. Krishna Balsarza, Operations & Business Development Head of Miss World Philippines, also visited the Consulate yesterday to share their excitement for the first run of the Miss Philippines Hawaii competition.
