4 April 2025, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu participated in the Brigham Young University–Hawaii's 2025 Asia-Pacific Career Conference (BYUH APCC), held last 2 April 2025, in Laie, Hawaii. The event connected leading organizations with the BYU student community who hail from over 70 countries, many of whom are preparing to return to their home country to contribute to the workforce. BYUH's largest ethnic group is Filipino, comprising 20 percent of the school’s student population.
During the Conference, the Consulate officials, represented by Consul Grace Bulos and Assistance to Nationals Officer Hermogenes Cayabyab, Jr., promoted the Philippine foreign service as a career by sharing information on the work of the Consulate, their own personal experiences as diplomats, and pathways to enter the foreign services either as a staff or by taking the Foreign Service Officer Examination.
The Consulate officials also disseminated information on the Very Important Pinoy Tour 2025 and overseas voting for the Philippine national elections 2025 and replied to queries on consular services. (END).
Consul Bulos encourages Filipino students to consider a career in the Philippine foreign service.
