Consul General Talbo (left) discusses the promotion of Filipino food with Mr. Medina of Ramar Foods.
4 April 2025, Honolulu – Consul General Arman R. Talbo had a productive discussion with Mr. Michael Medina, Hawaii Branch Manager of Ramar Foods, on opportunities to promote Filipino food. Also joining the call was Vice Consul Leizel Caasi.
During the meeting, Consul General Talbo shared his enthusiasm to further promote Filipino food beyond the core market, and to enhance its popularity with locals and tourists visiting the Aloha State.
Mr. Medina shared that Ramar Foods has the same vision, which prompted them to launch the kabuhayan (livelihood) program and the Silog movement in Hawaii. Silog is a well-loved food combination in the Philippines, which includes garlic rice topped with egg and a choice of protein, such as bangus, tocino, longganisa, or tapa.
