22 April 2025, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu participated in Queen Kaʻahumanu Elementary School’s annual Community Day 2025 last April 17. Leading the Consulate team was Vice Consul Leizel Caasi, accompanied by Administrative Officer Jonifer Mislang and Cultural Officer Mia Gaspar.
Held annually, the Community Day provides students and teachers with a valuable opportunity to interact with local community members and learn about the diverse services they offer. It also serves as a platform for students to explore potential career paths.

2nd grade students get a glimpse into Filipino culture by learning some Filipino words and reciting numbers in Filipino.
As part of the event, the Consulate team brought English and Filipino books for the students to enjoy. Among the most popular activities was coloring the Philippine flag and illustrations of Philippine wildlife, such as the monkey-eating eagle and tarsier. Another highlight was a lively rendition of the Filipino version of "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” or "Paa, Tuhod, Balikat, Ulo," which students enthusiastically joined. The Consulate team also offered small Filipino snacks and candies, much to the delight of the students. (END)
