29 April 2025, Honolulu – As part of the economic diplomacy efforts of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu to engage with Philippine-owned businesses in Hawaii, Consul General Arman R. Talbo visited the Ramar Foods warehouse in Kapolei last 25 April. Ramar Foods has been in the business of manufacturing and promoting Filipino food flavors in the US and worldwide, for over 50 years.
Mr. Michael Medina, Ramar’s Hawai’i branch manager, gave a facility tour for Consul General Talbo and Vice Consul Leizel Caasi. During the tour, Mr. Medina shared that employee safety remains the top priority. As a family-owned company, their goal is to “always have employees return to their families in the same manner that they left for work.”
According to Mr. Medina, Ramar is among the top buyers of ube from the Philippines. While the company has manufacturing facilities across the US, it continues to source specific products from the Philippines, such as bangus, due to high demand and its popularity.
Aside from the Silog Movement, Ramar Foods will also be launching its new street foods line this year. Visitors at the Filipino Fiesta this 3 May at the Filipino Community Center will be able to join the Filipino Street Foods Experience at Ramar Foods' booth. Information on the Filipino Fiesta is accessible on https://filipinofiestahi.com/ (END)
