Consul Bulos administers the oath of citizenship to a group of petitioners for retention/reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.
8 May 2025, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted its first consular outreach mission in Kahului, Maui last 3 to 4 May at the Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center, where 126 consular applicants availed of consular services ranging from passport renewal, legalization, civil registration and retention or reacquisition of Philippine citizenship. Thirty-nine petitioners for reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship were sworn in as Filipino citizens.
Consul Grace Bulos led the Consulate team that attended to the consular and assistance to nationals needs of the Filipino and Filipino-American community in Maui. Consular Assistants Derico Derupe, Lallaine Uy, Elaine Aldaya and Brenda Auro, and Finance Officer Abigail Ramos provided invaluable support to the team.
Aside from the provision of consular services, the Consulate’s team responded to queries and requests for information and clarification on consular services. The team also visited two Filipino nationals who were confined at the Maui Medical Center and Kula Hospital to check on their condition.
On 2 May, the Consulate team conducted a town hall meeting to discuss consular services and overseas voting with Filipino community leaders and members. Consul Bulos also informed community members of the outreach mission and the ongoing overseas voting during the Ms. Maui Filipino Pageant organized by the Maui Filipino Community Council at the Maui Beach Hotel on 3 May.
The Consulate partnered with the Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center led by its President, Mr. Arnel Alvarez, in the successful conduct of the activity.
