28 May 2025, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu welcomed the Samiweng Singers of Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS) as part of their cultural visit to Hawaii, showcasing the richness and excellence of Philippine choral music on the international stage.

Under the baton of conductor Sherween Cabrales, the award-winning high school choir delivered powerful renditions of “Pamulinawen” and “Tagumpay Nating Lahat.” The ensemble also performed, “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” demonstrating their musical versatility. The Samiweng Singers previously visited the Consulate in July 2023 and rendered heartfelt performances of Ilocano classics.

Conductor Sherween Cabralles leads the Samiweng Singers as they sing, “Pamulinawen”.

Consul General Talbo expressed the Consulate’s deep appreciation to the group for their outstanding contributions in promoting the cultural heritage of Ilocos Norte and the traditions of Philippine choral music. He commended the ensemble for helping elevate the Philippines’ cultural presence overseas through their artistry and musical  expression.

The visit of the Samiweng Singers to Honolulu was made possible through the generous support of Mariano Marcos State University Global Association, Inc., and the alumni of INNHS based  in Hawaii.
