PRESS RELEASE - 37 - 2019
Consulate personnel posing as applicants and trying the kiosks on site to join the electronic queue
28 May 2019, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, with its aim to further improve and enhance delivery of frontline services, will launch a new interactive customer queueing and online appointment system. The Customer Flow Management System allows applicants to join the electronic queue anywhere, either via SMS before coming to the Consulate, via website (online link in the Consulate’s website), and onsite (register at the kiosk in the Consulate lobby).
Under the new queueing system, clients’ waiting time will be decreased because applicants do not need to wait and may opt to leave the Consulate premise because the system will automatically notify the applicant via SMS a few minutes before his/her turn. The new system is also interactive. Applicants may cancel or move his/her appointment to a later time by replying to the notification sent by text. The system will likewise notify the client via SMS of the availability of their passport as soon as it is ready for release.
On 23 May 2019, the Consulate held a training to familiarize all personnel with the new system. A simulation on the queueing system was also conducted. Consulate personnel posed as applicants and provided feedback on the performance of the new system.
The queueing system will make the Consulate’s services on par with other government agencies in the United States and is in line with the President’s promise to improve Filipino lives by making public services more convenient and accessible.
The new appointment and queueing system will officially be launched on 03 June 2019. (END)
