The Philippine Consulate team assisting Filipino clients at the Lihue Civic Center, Kauai on 27 April 2019
(30 April 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted a consular outreach mission in Kauai Island on 27-28 April 2019 at the Lihue Civic Center. Assisted by volunteers from the Filipino community in Kauai, the consular outreach team headed by Deputy Consul General Angelica C. Escalona was able to process 221 passport applications, 17 applications for dual citizenship, and 13 documents for notarization during the one and a half day event.
This was the fourth consular outreach mission conducted by the Consulate in 2019 in areas under its jurisdiction.
Per the last U.S. Decennial Census held in 2010, there were 21,423 Filipinos (race alone or combination) in Kauai County. Filipinos as a race alone or combination group represented 31.9 percent of the County’s population. END
