(24 April 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) - The U.S. Census Bureau represented by Partnership Specialist Annie Sokol visited the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu on 23 April 2019 to make a brief presentation on the 2020 Decennial Census. Ms. Sokol noted that Hawaii has a low census response rate, which is why the U.S. Census Bureau wants to improve the efficiency of the collection and quality of information. She further noted that the U.S. Census Bureau will set up a temporary center in Hawaii to conduct the census in April 2020, and would be recruiting personnel for this purpose. The Consulate General discussed with Ms. Sokol ways by which she can disseminate information on the 2020 Decennial Census to Filipino community organizations and media in Hawaii. END.
