(12 April 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu participated in the Queen Kaahumanu Elementary School Community Day 2019 on 11 April 2019. Queen Kaahumanu School is located in urban Honolulu and has 550 students. There are many students of Filipino descent.
Consulate personnel headed by Deputy Consul General Angelica C. Escalona set up a booth where they displayed English and bilingual English/Tagalog children’s books, brochures on the Philippines and cultural materials. Students of the Queen Kaahumanu Elementary School enjoyed reading the books, which give a glimpse of what life is like for children in the Philippines. After the Community Day, the Consulate donated the books to the school’s library. (END)
