Rear ADM. Daryl L. Caudle turns over the Command, Submarine Force of the U.S. Pacific Fleet to Rear ADM. Blake L. Converse

(22 February 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii ) - Philippine Consul General to Honolulu Joselito A. Jimeno attended the ceremony of the change of command of COMSUBPAC, held on 21 February 2019 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Rear Admiral Daryl L. Caudle turned over the command of COMSUBPAC to Rear Admiral Blake Converse.

The new leader of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific submarine force pledged to keep the command “forward-leaning for combat operations” in an age of fast-moving technological change. To meet the challenge, RADM Converse intends to place new emphasis on expeditionary logistics and maintenance, which includes crew training and continuing to adapt to advances in technology.

COMSUBPAC encompasses 60 percent of the U.S.’ submarine force and has elements operating from the Eastern Pacific to the Indian Ocean. Thirteen thousand sailors and civilians are assigned to the command.

Outgoing COMSUBPAC RADM Daryl Caudle will be assuming duties as deputy director for Strategy, Plans and Policy (J-5) at the Pentagon. For his service, RADM Caudle was awarded the Legion of Merit. END
