(12 October 2018, Honolulu, Hawaii) – Hawaii’s delegate to the 2018 Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO), Major Charlynne Mae McGinnis called on the Consul General, Amb. Joselito A. Jimeno on 11 October 2018. Major McGinnis is an officer of the United States Air Force serving as Chief of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Operations. She is a staunch advocate of stronger US-PH engagement in the fields of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and was instrumental in building a counter-terrorism information-sharing framework among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

During her meeting with Consulate officials, Major McGinnis discussed her proposed proposal to engage members of the community in an event to raise awareness of Filipino cuisine and promote a healthy lifestyle. As part of the FLYPRO activities, delegates selected to participate in its program are required to implement a project upon their return from their immersion trip in the Philippines.

Ms. McGinnis will join the growing network of FYLPRO delegates from Hawaii, which includes Ms. Kit Zulueta (2012), Mr. Randy Cortez (2013), Mr. Mike Dahilig (2014), Mr. Ty Cullen (2015), Mr. Brandon dela Cruz (2016), Ms. Elizabeth Obod Frilles (2016), and Mr. Tyler Dos Santos-Tam (2017) (END)
