(18 October 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) – Marigold Manufacturing Corporation, one of the largest food corporations in the Philippines and manufacturer of Mama Sita’s products, will be working with the University of Hawaii (UH) - Center for Philippine Studies (CPS) in promoting Philippine culinary heritage to students of CPS. Mrs. Clara Reyes-Lapus, President of Mama Sita’s, met with Dr. Pia Arboleda, Director of CPS on 10 October 2019 at UH-Manoa together with Vice Consul and Economic Officer Andrea Christina Caymo. Mrs. Reyes-Lapus discussed their company’s plan to send a guest lecturer to UH next year to teach classes on Filipino cuisine and culinary heritage.
During her visit to Hawaii, Mrs. Reyes-Lapus also promoted their siling labuyo (chili sauce) product during a television appearance on KITV-4’s Good Morning Hawaii. The chilis used to produce the sauce helps provide livelihood in agricultural areas in the Southern Philippines. (END)

Mrs. Reyes-Lapus promoted the Mama Sita’s siling labuyo (chili sauce) product on KITV-4’s Good Morning Hawaii
