(5 February 2018, Honolulu, Hawaii) The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, Hawaii is pleased to announce the arrival today, 5 February 2018, of its new Consul General, Mr. Joselito A. Jimeno, vice Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin who left Hawaii on 30 January 2018 to head the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago.

Consul General Jimeno is the 19th Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General since it formally opened to the public on 16 November 1948.

Prior to coming to Honolulu, Mr. Jimeno, who holds the rank of Chief of Mission, Class I, was the Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from September 2015 to 4 February 2018. He has also served at various Philippine foreign service posts in the following capacities: Philippine Ambassador to Oman from 2011 to 2013; Consul General in Guangzhou, China from 2009 to 2011; Minister and Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russia from 2007 to 2009; First Secretary and Consul, and later as Minister at the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC, UDA; as Deputy Consul General at the Philippine Consulate General in New York from 2002 to 2003, and earlier as First Secretary and Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, Germany from 1999 to 2002.

Before his posting in Berne, Switzerland, he served at Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs as Assistant Secretary of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination (now called Office of Policy Planning and Coordination). (END)
