Julian Valenzuela gave an overview of the healthcare information management industry in the Philippines. The Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) plays a key role in promoting the Philippines healthcare outsourcing industry alongside government and private sector players. Healthcare IT-BPM companies in the Philippines offer myriad of services including practice management, medical coding and quality audit, claims and payment management, clinical document improvement, telehealth, and clinical trials.
Nathan King, meanwhile, shared about the benefits of outsourcing and offshoring medical and health-related processes. An offshore partner enables healthcare organizations to expand the size and impact of clinical teams. Offshoring allows for greater focus on core business strategy. It also solves the problems of talent availability and cost. The Philippines is the ideal destination for offshoring healthcare services due to abundant English-speaking talent, excellent nursing education and reputation, modern infrastructure, and political stability. He also noted the strong industry support being provided by the Philippine government to industry players which enabled IT-BPM companies to transition quickly to the work changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
VISAYA KPO is a HIPAA compliant organization which provides hospitals, clinics and group practices around the world with cost efficient, technologically-advanced and customized strategies in the healthcare information management field. Shearwater Health, meanwhile, is a provider of offshore clinical process outsourcing and nurse recruitment services serving United States healthcare companies. The company offers teams of remote and onsite clinicians that expand the size and impact of clinical teams, so that clients can focus on internal teams practicing at the peak of their license.
