Consul General at the UP Alumni Association Gala Dinner

Consul General Cardenas with the 2010 Parent of the Year Awardees, Prospero and Amelia Cudiamat

31 August 2010. Consul General Leoncio R. Cardenas attended the Gala Celebration of Hawaii’s foremost Filipino community organizations, the University of the Philippines’ Alumni Association Biennial Banquet and the Philippine Cultural Foundation Hawaii’s Annual Recognition Banquet.

Consul General Cardenas conveyed his congratulations to UP Alumni Association Hawaii Chapter’s newly-installed Officers led by its President, Ms. Divina Telan Robbillard, the Board of Directors, Advisory Board and all members for their dedication and commitment in promoting unity and sense of purpose among UP Alumni in Hawaii.

At the Philippine Cultural Foundation of Hawaii, Consul General Cardenas lauded the efforts of  the organization, led by its President, Ms. Maggie Domingo, in promoting the value of education through grant of scholarships to deserving Filipino-American youth. He extended his congratulations to  Prospero and Amelia Cudiamat who won the distinguished award of Parents of the Year 2010.  Mr. and Mrs. Cudiamat raised four children and who are now  well-established professionals making their mark in their respective careers. Also attending the Annual Banquet were Honolulu Acting Mayor Kirk Caldwell and Representative and President of the Philippine Caucus, Michael Magaoay.
